call for performers

so.

tell me what you want to do. the thing and the flavor of it, unless i already know.

and what days you want to do it.  which fridays.  and options. give me options.  but only tell me days you for sure could do it, cause i’ll be pissed if i have to reorganize it all cause

i’m going to put it all together, hopefully, in a good kind of flow.

so, like say, ‘i’m going to sing wierd musical songs and dance in odd dresses and i want to do 15 minutes and i could do the first and third fridays for sure.  i’d like to do both fridays, but i’m ok with just doing one.”  like that.  tell me like that.

or say, “i want to do 20 minutes, split up into two sections, like 10 minutes of dramatic monologues, and 10 minutes, playing the trombone with wind up toy accompaniement.  i only can do the third friday.” like that.

just be sure to be sure to be sure you can come the day you say you can.

so.

you can be one of 3 or 4 main performers on the night, or you can just do something really small inbetween the performers, like 3-5 minutes tops.

words people say about retard

thoroughly enjoyed it…. man, it just keeps getting better and better got the feeling last night that it could become something really big…. the whole night was fantastic.

there was luminosity and transcendence. and meringues and tea. and friends of friends. that is part of its beauty. what makes it warm. besides the big-ass heater.

i’m enjoying this and i don’t know why.

and it is fun and sad and i feel like a kid again when i performed in front of my mother and father, i don’t remember what, but a skit of some sorts, and i got pee in my pants happy about it.

sounds good, maybe especially with no audience, like a clubhouse, and like what my sister and I used to do in the backyard, put on shows for the neighbor kids for about ten kids, a dime each. i was the writer and director and princess and my sister was the prince, the villain, and the dog.

anyway, sounds like your audience is also retarded, slow, loitering out there.

this is like our first thing. our goofy we don’t know what it is time.  maybe it will always be like that.

what is retard?

i found this space in berkeley, i’m just going to try it out. totally church kind of extra room, but it’s big and it’s super cheap. starting in january on friday nights. i wanted to do a super low key kind of performance thing.

i’m gonna make cake and bring tea. charge 10 bucks. i don’t know if anyone will really come, but i just want a place to regularly practice performing. me and some other people.

i mean, it seems kind of ridiculous to talk about it cause i don’t know if anyone will come, but yeah. it’s just your regular bare bones church room. with chairs. and heat. does that sound interesting at all to you? don’t feel pressured. just think about it….

when can i see retard?

Retard: the Church shows

We’re putting on a show for you!

it’s every friday.

from 7-9pm.

cake and tea provided for all.

yummy good cake and tea.

and no loud music or amplified music.

but anything else.

your home away from home.

but in a church.

well, not a church, like the sunday school room.

well, more like the room where the old ladies put out their crocheted stuff.

and spit around their dentures.
